Lucie, the official marketing officer of Shiba Inu, has teased the highly anticipated Web3 upgrade for the game through a post on X. She also warned the community to be cautious of scammers who may falsely claim the update has already been launched and may try to trick users into spending their cryptocurrency.
What the Web3 Update Will Add to the Game
According to Lucie’s tweet, the new update, titled “Shibatopia Arena,” will introduce ranked tournaments and blockchain-powered card battles. This upgrade integrates Web3 technology, turning digital cards into unique assets on the Shibarium blockchain.
With this update, players can participate in ranked tournaments held over 15-day periods across 14 divisions. They will compete to climb the ranks from White Belt to Grandmaster, earning points for victories and losing points for defeats. The cards obtained in the game will function as NFTs on Shibarium, allowing users to trade, sell, or display them in their collections.
Lucie’s Warning to the Community
Lucie also mentioned that the game will feature over 10,000 unique Shiboshi heroes, each with special abilities. Players can use these heroes to lead their teams in strategic battles. Lucie proudly stated that this transition from Web2 to Web3 for Shiba Eternity “ensures player ownership and pushes the boundaries of blockchain gaming.” The primary tokens used in the game will be BONE and TREAT, with the latter yet to be launched.
